M1 Carbine Rifle Match - competitors use an as-issued M1 Carbine and fire 40 shots at a distance of 100 yards on SR-1 targets. The course of fire is 15 shots slow-fire prone (first 5 shots are sighters); 10 shots rapid-fire prone; 10 shots rapid-fire sitting; 10 shots slow fire standing.

Modern Military Carbine Rifle Match - competitors use an AR-15 Carbine type rifle and fire 40 shots at a distance of 100 yards. The course of fire is 15 shots slow-fire prone (first 5 shots are sighters); 10 shots rapid-fire prone; 10 shots rapid-fire sitting; 10 shots slow fire standing. All shot from 100 yards on targets reduced to simulate 200 yds.

CMP-Sanctioned Clinics may be offered for M1 Garand, Springfield, Vintage Military, .22 Rimfire Sporter, M1 Carbine, Unlimited Garand or Modern Military. A CMP-sanctioned clinic taught by a CMP Master Instructor is an event hosted or sponsored by a CMP affiliated organization where match sponsors agree to use CMP Competition Rules and CMP standards for the conduct of clinics and matches. For all sanctioned clinics that are taught by certified Master Instructors, the CMP can provide CMP Rifle Clinic Student Guides that can be used as a student text.
